Neva-mistress-work-in-progress by ElsaKroese Neva-mistress-work-in-progress by ElsaKroese
Here's a little work in progress of a painting that I'm currently working on.  On the left is the painting as I picked it up this morning (ok, yesterday evening), on the right is the progress I've made.

I shot/gathered some anatomy/wing references before resuming to work on it - as I started out without any of that - and made some changes accordingly; the wing and the perspective/lighting on it (because they were way off),  made her head slightly smaller, and her arms longer.

Explanation on what inspired me to paint this + previous steps in the process can be found here: spindrift-comic.tumblr.com/pos…

I love the late Renaissance - Barroque like work on the drapes, also the pose is a wonderful reference to the solid bodies of Caravaggio, I like what you did here, a lot!

I'm a few months late with this (since I only found this stuff today) but I had the SAME EXACT THOUGHTS :3 Brilliant, and  I love the influence of baroque art here. <3

Thanks! I will. I've rendered a whole bunch more of it already. I'm still fiddling with the last details/sections :D.

This is coming along beautifully, Elsa; but as of this post she still has two right feet, the front one is beautifully painted.

Yep, haven't gotten to that point yet :D, don't worry she won't end up with two right feet - it's actually the bottom of her left foot that we're seeing but I haven't rendered it properly yet which makes it look weird. It will be fixed though ^_^
